By peeling back the layers the #Edit house allows for selective cropping and filtering of spatial features to enhance your status.' (Squiggle Group, 2016)'
#Edit House is a group response from the Squiggle Studio, resolving an interiors package for the Gen Y client in White Gum Valley. Shaping a lifestyle and evolving with the occupant over a lifetime becoming an intergenerational residence:
A project put into place by Landcorp, the one planet community promoting innovation through demonstration, a laboratory moitoring the performance of the estate's homes.
Apartment one provides the day / night function with furniture using formply for cabinetry. Filtering to a low task, changing zone and bathing space, connecting the exterior and house. It is about the house connecting with the community, than just being four walls that we occupy:
-
Low maintenance and pragmatic spatial features
-
Neighborliness design, promoting a connection with the exterior / interior
-
Interior accents with a sustainable material selection approach.
Multicultural experiences & friendship define our worth and are traded as social status and becoming the fabric of their fledgling adult lives.
The promise of technology and the virtual connection has lead to a realisation of the importance of community and they want to step outside but need a visual connection. A meeting point accessible 24/24 and creating a sense of place.
